About Crystal Clear Eye Clinic — Specialist Ophthalmology in Andheri West, Mumbai
A modern, single-surgeon eye care practice combining tertiary-hospital-grade equipment, dual fellowship training from L V Prasad Eye Institute, and continuity of care that large multi-doctor hospitals cannot match.
Who We Are
A Specialist Eye Clinic, Built Around the Patient In Front of Us
Crystal Clear Eye Clinic was founded in 2020 by Dr. Jignesh M. Gala — a vitreoretinal and cataract surgeon with over a decade of experience and 25,000+ ophthalmologic procedures completed across India and Singapore.
We are deliberately small. While most large eye hospitals in Mumbai operate with rotating teams of consultants, residents, and optometrists — where your first consultation, surgery, and follow-up are often handled by three different people — every patient at Crystal Clear is personally evaluated, operated on, and reviewed by Dr. Gala.
This continuity matters most for:
- Diabetic patients who need both cataract surgery and ongoing retinal monitoring
- High myopes with combined refractive and retinal risk
- Keratoconus patients who need long-term corneal disease management
- Patients seeking a second opinion on a complex retinal or surgical question
We are not trying to be the largest eye hospital in Mumbai. We are trying to be the most genuinely specialised, technologically equipped, and personally accountable clinic in Andheri West.

What Makes Us Different
What Sets Crystal Clear Apart
Andheri has eye hospitals dating back to the 1980s. They have legacy. We have something different — and for many patients, something more useful.
🌏 International Training Across Three Countries
Dr. Gala’s training spans L V Prasad Eye Institute (Hyderabad), Tan Tock Seng Hospital (Singapore), and the Royal Colleges of Edinburgh and Glasgow — a credential mix uncommon in Mumbai. For patients seeking modern surgical standards and an evidence-based approach, this is meaningful.
🔬 Equipment from Nine Countries — All In-House
Most clinics outsource OCT, biometry, or topography to external diagnostic centres. We don’t. Our diagnostic and surgical platform spans Germany (SCHWIND AMARIS, Carl Zeiss), USA (Bausch + Lomb Stellaris, Avedro KXL), Switzerland (Alcon LEGION), Italy (CSO Sirius+), Japan (Tomey OA-2000), Poland (Optopol REVO OCT), Korea (Huvitz HOCT), France (Quantel AEON laser), and India (Retikare Zeal, Appasamy).
👨⚕️ One Surgeon, Front to Back of the Eye
Diabetic patients typically need both cataract care and retinal monitoring. High myopes carry both refractive and retinal risk. Most clinics split this between two specialists. With Dr. Gala’s dual fellowship in Comprehensive Ophthalmology and Medical & Surgical Retina from L V Prasad, you get one continuous record under one accountable surgeon.
💳 Cashless Coverage with 30+ Insurance Providers
We are empanelled with major insurers including Star Health, HDFC ERGO, ICICI Lombard, Niva Bupa, Care Health, Bajaj Allianz, Tata AIG, and others — for cashless cataract surgery, retinal procedures, and other inpatient eye care. Written estimates are provided before scheduling.
🚨 Same-Day Urgent Slots
Sudden vision loss, new floaters or flashes, and post-operative concerns are seen the same day during clinic hours. For time-sensitive retinal and post-surgical issues, hours matter.
Our Values
What We Stand For
Three principles guide how we practice. They sound simple. Most clinics don’t follow them.
1. Honest Scope of Practice
We do what we are trained to do, and refer what we are not. Complex paediatric squint, retinopathy of prematurity (ROP), and corneal transplantation are referred to subspecialty centres — because some conditions require dedicated paediatric ophthalmology or cornea fellowship training, and we believe in honest scope over treating every condition under one roof. Referring is not a weakness. Over-claiming is.
2. Transparent Pricing, Before You Commit
You receive a written, itemised estimate covering IOL choice, surgical fee, theatre and medication charges, and follow-up — before scheduling. We coordinate cashless authorisation with your insurer and explain exactly which costs your policy covers and which it does not. No bundled add-ons revealed at the billing counter. No surgeries upgraded mid-procedure without consent.
3. Evidence Over Marketing
Treatment recommendations are based on current peer-reviewed evidence, not surgical fashion, manufacturer incentives, or volume targets. If a premium IOL won’t benefit your specific eye, we will say so. If you don’t yet need cataract surgery, we will say so. Practising honestly is how a young clinic earns the trust that legacy hospitals already have.
